What makes a photo memorable? A ranking algorithm's been developed by researchers from over 10k collected images.
In order of memorability (if there's such a word!), the most memorable photographs were found to be of:
- people
- human-scale space — eg grocery store produce aisle, close-ups of objects
- natural landscapes.
Might this tie in perhaps with how human brains have evolved, to see or spot and remember other people and things nearby first?
